These are the broadcast packages that I have produced in Frisco ISD-TV (most to least current).
"Lonesome in Little Elm":
I had the opportunity to report on the only Frisco ISD elementary school located in Little Elm, Texas."Rebounds & Red Carpet":
I was invited by the Nancy Lieberman Foundation to cover her "Night of Magic With Lady Magic" gala. At this event, Lieberman's high-profile friends come to enjoy an evening of auctions, dinner, and fundraising for students in need.Frisco ISD-TV Episode (#40):
This is the last Frisco ISD-TV episode I anchored in my senior year under the instruction of Eva Coleman.Frisco ISD-TV Episode (#039):
A fellow student and I anchored in the season four finale of Frisco ISD-TV. Together, we wrote the anchor wraps, read from the Teleprompters, and tried our hardest to end the season great. In addition, one of my stories “Show Me the Money” is shown in this episode. I explain the story later in the résumé.
“Show Me the Money!”:
I reported on the Frisco Education Foundation’s Scholarship Night for all seniors in Frisco ISD. In this package,
I explain the extensive process high school seniors have to go through to win these scholarships. I shot this in
twenty four frames per second so the feel of it could be more movie-like. I am proud to say that this package is
currently on the Frisco Education Foundation website and is being shown to high school seniors in seven
different high schools across the district as an informational video on the scholarship application process.
“Changing Temps”:
I reported on a new project that a senior at Liberty High School put into action. She was inspired by a website, but put her own twist on it. She hoped that her idea would create unity among the students in her school. It did just that and more.Frisco ISD-TV 2012 Sweet 16 Edition:
The Frisco ISD-TV crew and I attended the Student Television Network Convention in Dallas, Texas, in March of 2012. We signed up for the Sweet 16 Broadcast Competition. In this competition, we were given 16 hours to complete a less than 16 minute broadcast with a one-worded overall theme. We had 16 words to choose from and 16 minutes to inform the judges of our selected one-word theme. We chose the word “progress” and developed an entire show within the time limits. We competed against over one hundred schools. The twist to this competition is that all of the script writing and editing had to be done in a ballroom at the Hyatt Hotel in Dallas where the STN convention was located. We worked throughout the day to produce an entire show on how our hometown of Frisco, Texas, is a real-world example of “progress”. Within this less-than-16-minute broadcast, I created a package on the progression of technology and how students in all schools embrace it in the Frisco Independent School District. If you fast forward through the YouTube video to 5:02, the anchor, Jamie Miller, introduces me and my story and you can view it starting from that point, but feel free to watch the entire show."Heads above the Rest":
I reported and developed a package on a girl at Purefoy Elementary School who was shocked to find out that
she had been diagnosed with a life changing disease the summer before her second grade school year. I got to
see the physical and emotional effects that this disease had on her and her family. Even though this disease was
a setback in her life, she pushed through it and helped raise awareness in the community.
“A Block Where Opportunity Knocks”:
This is a follow-up story on “United We Stand” (I’d recommend watching that story, which is at the bottom of
the list of my work, before watching this story). This package is about the One Voice group as stated in my
“United We Stand” story. They held a block party at a local middle school and hundreds of parents, students,
and organizations were there to spread the importance of education after high school.
“Frisco ISD-TV (Episode #031)”:
A fellow classmate and I anchored for this Episode of Frisco ISD-TV. Our executive producer, Eva Coleman,
entered this into the UIL Interscholastic League Press Conference (ILPC) competition and we won third place
for Anchor Presentation and News Broadcast (as listed above in the “Awards” section of this résumé). We
worked very hard on our anchor wraps and made sure that we tried our hardest. Our efforts paid off because we
were awarded third in state for anchoring.
